NEW CASTLE – Lána Lee Norris, 70, of Warsaw, died June 23, 2011, in her residence, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 5, 1940, in New Castle, to Charles and Madonna Harris Rutledge. She married Jack L. Norris, who survives.
She graduated from New Castle High School in 1958. She worked for RCA, Indianapolis. She was a member of North Webster Church of God. She had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. She loved watching basketball and was an avid IU fan. She enjoyed golfing, playing euchre, fishing and was an ardent quilter.
Also surviving are five children: Debra Norris, Gainesville, Fla.; Troy and Dale Bradshaw, both of Indianapolis; Lisa (and spouse Stephen) Fishburn, Seattle, Wash.; and Christine Morales, New Plymouth, Idaho; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Kimberly, Brandon, James, Michael, Jenna, Alex, Chris, Sam, Nik and Tony; a great-grandchild, Drake Bradshaw; a sister, Beverly (and spouse Bill) Garner, of Warsaw; her father, Charles Rutledge, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Services will be at 4 p.m. July 3 at Sproles Family Funeral Home, 2400 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will be in Springport Woodlawn Christian Cemetery.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and from 5 to 8 p.m. July 2 at Sproles Family Funeral Home.
