L. Maxine Cole, 95, Lake Placid, Fla., and formerly Pierceton, went to meet her Savior at 5:26 p.m. June 26, 2015, in the Good Shepherd Home, Sebring, Fla. She was born June 27, 1919, in Bourbon, to Hubert Ray (1889/1960) and Lillie Viola Lutes Fawley (1896/1981). On Nov. 8, 1937, in Pierceton, she married Alson Roy Cole (1914/1993), who preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1993. She attended Monroe Elementary and graduated from Pierceton High School with the Class of 1937. She lived most of her life on the “Family Homestead Farm” at the north edge of Pierceton, prior to moving to Florida and living with her son in 2013. She also was a life member of Pierceton American Legion Post Auxiliary Unit 258. Surviving are, three sons: Dr. Larry Gene (and spouse Cheryl) Cole, Yorktown, and Marathon, Fla.; Terry Max (and spouse Cindy) Cole, Warsaw; Robert Dale Cole, Lake Placid, Fla.; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces, -nephews and cousins. She also was preceded in death by a brother, James Arthur "Tom" Fawley (1913/1985) and a sister Theresia Irene Fawley-Cole (1918/1994). There will be a private graveside service only.
