People will be able to learn about an organization that helps provide mental health to people in Kenya, as well as give money toward it.

The Kutoa Project will hold an event from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 4 at Creighton's Crazy Egg Cafe & Coffee Bar, 4221 W. Old 30, Warsaw. During the event, Shae Brown, founder and director of Kutoa Project, said attendees will learn what Kutoa Project does in regards to working to provide mental health services in Kenya.

The Kutoa Project’s mission is to provide therapeutic social services in a safe, Christ-centered environment. It accomplishes that by equipping Kenyan youth who have been affected by violence, abuse, homelessness, trafficking, disease or loss by providing therapeutic services, according to their website.

Brown, a Warsaw native, said she spent time in Kenya and from volunteering there she noticed a gap in mental health services that are needed.

By attending the event, she said she hopes people can learn about the organization does.

People can also donate money to the organization online at www.kutoaproject.org and 100% of donations go toward mental health issues, Brown said.

People have to RSVP for the event, which can be done at www.kutoaproject.org.
