Kurt Allen Engler, 10, Winona Lake, passed away at 9:11 a.m. July 22, 2014, at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident with a vehicle.
He was born Sept. 11, 2003, in Warsaw to Joshua Allen and Dawn Angela Pickart Engler, who survive in Winona Lake.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, and attended Jefferson Elementary School, Winona Lake, where he excelled at math and enjoyed running on the track team. He loved playing outdoors and climbing trees with his friends and sisters, and he especially liked baseball. He loved to be with his dad working on projects, singing songs with his mother and sisters, and going to church at Winona Lake Grace Brethren with his family.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Katharine and Renee Engler, at home in Winona Lake; grandparents, Jack and Meta Sue Engler, Warsaw, and David and Diana Pickart, Lowell; great-grandparents: Ruby Engler, Iberia, Ohio; Beverly Pickart, Portage; and Oscar and Joyce Jolly, Valparaiso; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Kip Cone officiating. A private family graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
