KREMC Awards $6,000 In Scholarships To Area Students

Posted
Kosciusko REMC President and CEO Steve Rhodes announced the winners of the 2008 KREMC Scholarship Program.

Nearly 80 students applied for the six $1,000 scholarships awarded."This year's field of applicants not only increased in number, up from 50 applicants last year, but they were a phenomenal group of students," said Rhodes. "By investing in the education of our future leaders, we know we're helping create a strong leadership base to serve our county for many years to come."

All applicants were required to submit an application detailing their high school or college grades, community involvement, and to write an essay. Applications were scored by independent judges from Grace College, and 12 candidates were selected from all entrants to be interviewed by area educators. The field was then narrowed to the winning students.
