Kosciusko Up 25 COVID CasesBetween noon Tuesday and noon Thursday, the Kosciusko County Health Department received a total of 25 new molecular and antigen positive COVID cases.

This gives Kosciusko County a cumulative total of 1,127 positive antigen and molecular cases and 17 deaths, according to Thursday’s information from the KCHD.

The 17th death was reported between noon Sept. 3 and noon Tuesday.

Of the 1,127 positives, including the 17 deaths, 137 are active cases, four are hospitalized active cases and 969 are recoverered cases.

Women make up 614 of the cases, with men at 513. The majority of the cases – 256 – are 19 to 29 years old; followed by 200 for 50 to 59 year olds; 158, 40 to 49; 147, 60 to 69; 125, birth to 18; 124, 30 to 39; 64, 80 to 99; and 53 cases, 70 to 79 years old, according to the graphs provided by the KCHD.

By race, cases are 69.2% white; 28.1% Hispanic; other, 2.1%; and 0.2% are African American. Data provided from 2017 states that 88% of the county’s population are white; 8% are Hispanic; 2% are Asian; 1% are African American; and 1% are other.

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is hosting a free COVID-19 drive-thru testing clinic in Warsaw through Saturday. Testing will be offered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The clinic will be located at Warsaw's Central Park, 225 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, in the west parking lot.

The drive-thru clinic is open to anyone age 2 and older who lives or works in Indiana.

Insurance is not required. Spanish translators will be available.

Individuals who are tested will receive an email or text message with the results when they become available.

Anyone who believes they may have been exposed to COVID-19, has developed symptoms of COVID-19, who is considered high risk, or who requires testing to return to work is strongly encouraged to take advantage of this free testing opportunity, according to information from the KCHD.

On Thursday, the ISDH announced that 764 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the state laboratory, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 102,243 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to Wednesday’s dashboard.

A total of 3,186 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 13 from Wednesday. Another 224 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record, according to Thursday’s information from the ISDH. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 1,164,141 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,158,018 on Wednesday. A total of 1,584,532 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the ISDH since Feb. 26.
