The Kosciusko RC&D organization supported the purchase of a learning tool called Enviroscape. This tool encourages students to understand the impact of water pollution on our local water sources. Students learned how landfill management impacts our water sources and ultimately our drinking water.
The Kosciusko RC&D organization has also purchased life jackets for students to visit Winona Lake and conduct green algae research in cooperation with the Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams. Together we believe that it is important to help our students understand how soil and water conservation are important for the future.
At Jefferson, students in all grades have the opportunity to visit our local lakes and streams to conduct water sampling and monitoring. These programs encourage students to learn about the greater community, get involved in action research, and develop a commitment to their natural resources. Thank you again to Kosciusko RC&D for their support of education.
