Kosciusko Inches Up 4 New COVID Cases In 2 Days To 876Between noon Tuesday and noon Thursday, the Kosciusko County Health Department received four new positive COVID-19 cases.

This gives the county a total of 876 positive cases since the first case was confirmed in March. Of those cases, 727 are recovered, seven are hospitalized active cases, 130 are active cases and 12 are deceased, according to the news release Thursday evening from the KCHD.

Broken down by age and sex, women between 20 to 29 years old make up 103 positive cases, followed by women 50 to 59 with 77 cases and women 40 to 49 with 77 cases. Men between 20 to 29 years old make up 75 cases, followed by men 50 to 59 years old with 66 cases. There are 64 females between birth and 19 years old who tested positive while 48 men of the same age range tested positive.

Women account for 482 of the 876 total cases, while men account for 394.

Broken down by race, 67.4% of the positive cases are white, 30.3% are Hispanic, 0.2% are African American and 2.1% are “other.”

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) on Thursday announced that 1,046 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 77,565 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to Wednesday’s dashboard.

A total of 2,898 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 20 over Wednesday. Another 207 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days, according to the news release Thursday from the ISDH.

As of Thursday, 33% of ICU beds and 80% of ventilators are available across the state.

The ISDH also reports that as of Thursday, 877,970 tests for unique individuals have been reported to ISDH, up from 866,994 on Wednesday.
