Kosciusko County Foundation has received a $500,000 challenge grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help build a permanent endowment.
"This is thrilling news for our community," said Suzanne Light, executive director of the foundation. "Lilly Endowment is offering an opportunity to make an important difference in the future of Kosciusko County."
The grant challenges the foundation to raise $500,000 over the next 1 years. The endowment will match every dollar raised.
Lilly's grant is part of the second phase of the endowment's Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) initiative, begun in 1990 to strengthen local foundations. GIFT also is intended to help stimulate local leaders and donors to contribute ideas and wealth to create local solutions to local problems.
The Kosciusko County Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1968. For more information on the matching opportunities, contact the foundation at 267-9612.
