Kosciusko County 4-H Program Offers Youth Projects

The Kosciusko County 4-H program offers more than 100 different projects and programs for youth to be involved in. There also are 26 different clubs that youth can be involved in. The YMCA offers a camp for youth in third through seventh grade, and multiple different trips for those in seventh through 12th grade, both statewide and nationally. The 4-H group also has multiple scholarship opportunities as well. 4-H focuses on teaching life skills to youth through their involvement and completion of projects and activities. The Kosciusko County 4-H Program will be hosting a 4-H 101 Night Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Kosciusko County Extension Office, 202 W. Main St., Warsaw. This event is free and open to the public. All youth grades K-12 and their parents and guardians are encouraged to attend. 4-H 101 Night is a time to come and see what projects, programs, clubs and events the 4-H program has to offer for youth. Come learn about 4-H, ask questions, browse available projects and complete the 4-H enrollment on site. The Kosciusko County 4-H enrollment deadline is fast approaching. People have until March 1 to enroll. If people need assistance enrolling or do not have computer access, come to the extension office anytime during business hours 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Open enrollment sessions will be at the extension office today from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, Feb. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m., and March 1 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. For more information or to enroll online, visit www.ces.purdue.edu/kosciusko or call the 4-H Extension office at 574-372-2340.
