Kosciusko Coalition On Drug Edu. Open House Set For Nov. 14

On Nov. 14, the Kosciusko Coalition on Drug Education (KCODE) will host its 30th anniversary open house and a celebration for Kosciusko Cares Drug Free Kosciusko Coalition's implementation of the federal Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program.
The open house and celebration will be in the lower-level meeting room of the Kosciusko County Justice Building, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw.
The keynote speaker will be Douglas Huntsinger. Huntsinger serves as executive director for Drug Prevention, Treatment and Enforcement and chairman of the Indiana Commission to Combat Substance Use Disorder.
As a senior adviser to Gov. Eric J. Holcomb and a member of the Governor’s Cabinet, Huntsinger oversees the coordination of the Governor’s Next Level Recovery initiative, aligning and focusing the state of Indiana’s response to the drug crisis. He also serves as a member of the Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council and the Governor’s Health Workforce Council, according to a news release from KCODE.
There also will be several community leaders speaking at the event, including:
• Tammy Cotton, LITE (Living in Transition Effectively) program coordinator
• Lance Grubbs, KCODE vice chairman and founding leader
• Dan Hampton, Kosciusko County prosecuting attorney
• Joe Hawn, Winona Lake police chief
• Courtney Jenkins, Kosciusko County J-CAP coordinator
• Eric Lane, Fellowship Missions executive director
• Dr. Robert Ryan, Bowen Center president and chief executive officer
• Tommy Streeter, Fort Wayne Recovery & Allendale Treatment community outreach coordinator
• Brad Voelz, Kosciusko County chief deputy prosecuting attorney
• Melanie Wilhite, Kosciusko Cares director
Refreshments will be available. The event is open to anyone who would like to attend, and the speakers will begin presenting at 1 p.m.
