The new Kohl's store, 590 W. CR 300N, Warsaw, officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning. The doors opened for customers at 8 a.m., but customers started lining up at 6 a.m.

Maria Lemanski, manager of the Warsaw store, opened the festivities by reading a letter from Kohl's corporate management team. She said, "We're all proud of you and thank you very much for all your work getting the store ready for the opening."

Sue Creighton, Warsaw, was given the honor of cutting the ribbon. Creighton was named the first associate of the month for her efforts training, coaching and leading the new Warsaw employees.

Ernie Wiggins, Warsaw mayor, congratulated the Kohl's team and welcomed them to the Warsaw family. "This is a wonderful development, and Kohl's will serve as an anchor for a lot of good things to come for Warsaw."

Lemanski added, "We're excited to be here in Warsaw and be a part of this community." Warsaw is one of 100 new stores Kohl's is opening nationally this year. She has been with Kohl's for seven years, starting in the Greenwood store, then moving to Fort Wayne and Muncie. "My hometown is South Bend, and I'm glad to be back home."

The decision to open a Kohl's in Warsaw was based on different studies, including per capita income, and public feedback. Lemanski said, "Warsaw is a perfect fit."
