KLA Class Graduates

Twenty-two members of the 1997-98 Kosciusko County Leadership Academy received diplomas at graduation ceremonies last night at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.

The Kosciusko Leadership Academy is a "community leadership program designed to make successful people tomorrow's leaders."

This year's graduates included:

Steve Barrett, Zimmer Inc.; Jay Baumgartner, Bowen Center; Michael Bergen, Merrill Lynch; Ruth Bond, Biomet; Julie Ann Bowers, Kosciusko Community Hospital; Brian Catron, Kosciusko Community Hospital; Kay Chappel, R.R. Donnelley & Sons; Daniel Gehrke, DePuy; William E. Hough Jr., Othy; Dave Hurt, Chore-Time Brock; Wayne Luchenbill, Dekko Heating Technologies; Lori Masur, Warsaw Community High School; Cheryl McCann, Chore-Time Brock; Pamela Messmore, Lake City Bank; Kimberly Nance, Combined Community Services; Jeffery Noffsinger, city of Warsaw; Larry Peppel, Sprint Corp.; Dennis Reeve, Lake City Bank; Rick Swaim, Warsaw Community Schools; John H. Warren, First National Bank; Sterling Watkins, Bertsch Services; and Buckley Watson, Signet Expressions.

Guest speaker for the evening was Kosciusko Superior Court I Judge Duane Huffer. He spoke about the silent legacy left by significant people in the community.

Other speakers at the event included KLA President Cathy Teghtmeyer, KLA Public Information Chair Gus Sideris, KLA advisor and trustee Jean Northenor and KLA moderator Steve Grill, who presented the diplomas.

Also announced was the slate of officers for the 198-99 edition of KLA. They are:
