FORT WAYNE – In response to the Club for Growth’s ad, farmer and businessman Kip Tom issued the following statement Tuesday: “After funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to career politician Jim Banks, the Washington, D.C.-based Club for Growth is now spending nearly a quarter million dollars attacking me, and it’s obvious why: Senator Banks opposes term limits, has spent decades in politics, and wants to serve in office as long as possible, just like the D.C .insiders funding his campaign. I’m running for Congress to end the rule of career politicians like Jim Banks and to return to our founders’ vision of citizen legislators.” Records filed with the Federal Election Commission show that even before this latest expenditure, Banks benefited from more than $160,000 from Washington, D.C. insider groups like House Freedom Fund, Freedom's Defense Fund and others, according to the press release from the Kip Tom Campaign.
