John and Eilene Kimes celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 1 at an open house given by their family. The event was at the home of their daughter, Ramona Kimes, Akron. John and the former Eilene Leckrone were married June. 1, 1963, at West Eel River Church, Silver Lake, by the Rev. Custer. John retired from R.R. Donnelly, and Eilene was a beautician. The couple are the parents of children Ramona; Norma (and spouse Steve) Bauer, Mentone; and Doug Kimes, Warsaw. They have four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
