Kevin L. Klinger, 51, Atwood, passed away at 8:51 a.m. Sept. 14, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 1, 1963, in Warsaw, to Duane and Shirley Hively Klinger.
He spent most of his life in Kosciusko County and worked for Creighton Brothers. He graduated from East Palestine High School, East Palestine, Ohio, in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army from 1981 until his honorable discharge in 1986. He coached Young Tiger Football for a number of years in Warsaw.
He will be lovingly remembered by his father, Duane (and spouse Evalyn) Klinger, Ohio; two daughters, Heather Contrera, Portsmith, Va., and Cortney Hetrick, Spencerville; a brother, Rock (and spouse Bev) Klinger, Three Rivers; a step-brother, Mike (and spouse Missy) Smith, Ohio; four sisters: Deb Klinger, Colorado; Pam (and spouse Mark) Fulk, Sidney; Karen (and spouse Pat) Ihnen, Silver Lake; Kathy (and spouse Terry) Killian, Atwood; two stepsisters, Penny Miller, Ohio, and Holly Platt, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Hively Rohrer, who died in 2002; stepfather, Vern Rohrer; and his brother, Wendall D. Klinger, who died Nov. 24, 2013.
Graveside services will be Friday after calling at Palestine Cemetery with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126, both of Warsaw.
Calling is from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
