Kessler, Godfrey Participate In All-Star GameKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Recently-retired Grace College men’s basketball coach Jim Kessler and senior player Logan Godfrey finished their careers Tuesday in the NAIA All-Star Game.
Kessler, who retired after 42 seasons as the Lancers’ head coach, led the East All-Stars and coached Godfrey one last time.
Kessler won 788 games in his tenure with the Lancers, including the 1992 NAIA Division II national championship.
Godfrey, who played high school hoops at Fort Wayne Snider, shot 53 percent from the field and averaged 19 points and nine rebounds per game this season for Grace.
Godfrey finished his collegiate career with 1,642 points and 893 rebounds.
Tuesday’s all-star game featured 30 seniors and was played at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., as a warmup for the NAIA Division I men’s national championship.
