SYRACUSE – Kent E. “Hippie” Plotner, 66, Syracuse, passed away June 19, 2014, in Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 18, 1947, in Warsaw, to Robert and Flo Mollenhour Plotner. He worked for Commodore Homes as well as Rinker Boat. He is a Vietnam veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Syracuse VFW 1342, Syracuse Legion 223 and the FOE 3760. Surviving are a brother, Gail Plotner, Nappanee; and his longtime companion, Pam Huffer, Syracuse. Graveside service with military honors will be at 10 a.m. June 28 at Syracuse Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse.
