NORTH MANCHESTER – Kenneth L. Dickey, 98, of North Manchester and formerly of rural Silver Lake, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2020, at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
He was born May 2, 1922, in Pleasant Township in Wabash County, to the late Millard and Grace Eiler Dickey. On June 10, 1945, he married Martha A. Frantz. She died on March 30, 2002.
He was a lifetime dairy farmer and attended Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren in Liberty Mills. He was a member of the Kosciusko County Farm Bureau and served on the Kosciusko County Soil & Water Conservation Board. He was a former member of Gideon’s International and served as a delegate for many years for the Church of the Brethren and was a longtime deacon for Eel River Community Church of the Brethren. He also was a member of the State Ayrshire Breeders Association and a delegate for dairy marketing.
Survivors include his son, Ralph (Dena) Dickey, of Warsaw; daughters: Mary Alice (Gail) Weber, of Primm Springs, Tenn.; and Jane Anne (Ted) Curless, of North Olmsted, Ohio; sister, Rose Marie (Kenneth) Miller, of North Manchester; stepsister, Mary Ann Rohrer, of North Manchester; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his daughter, Jo Ellen Hogan; his son-in-law, Chuck Hogan; his granddaughter, Sara Hogan; and two sisters, Anna Lois Gump and Frances White.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114 W., North Manchester, with calling one hour prior at the funeral home and from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 10 at the funeral home. Chaplain Laura Stone and Pastor Corky Cordes will officiate. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at the Elm Grove Cemetery, 3500 Ind. 124, Bluffton.
