Kenneth Eugene Gable, 80, of Warsaw, died at 9:15 a.m. Oct. 5, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Warsaw, to Walter G. and Blanche Penrod Gable. On Aug. 26, 1955, in Warsaw, he married Janice Bowman, who survives.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was owner of Kenneth E. Gable Builder and worked at Zimmer Inc. as a pilot and later served as building construction supervisor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and American Legion 49, both in Warsaw. He loved all trades; loved to travel in their motor home; was an animal lover (including wildlife); was a gifted musician who played the organ, accordion, clarinet and saxophone; also taught accordion lessons; most of all, he was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa.

Also surviving are a daughter, Tamara Gable-Magley, Woodstock, Ga.; a son, Andrew (and spouse Jody) Gable, Greenwood, S.C.; five grandchildren, Aaron and Hilary Magley, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Benjamin, Ellen Bess and Trey Gable, all of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Swartz.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiating by the Rev. Thomas Ream of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
