FRANKFORT – Kenneth D. Smith, 65, of Frankfort, Ohio, died at 7:45 a.m. June 17, 2013, in his residence. He was born July 8, 1947, in Indianapolis, to Virgil Otto and Dortha Mae Bentley Smith. He married Diane Higginbotham, who preceded him in death. He retired from Budd Co., Frankfort, where he was a quality control inspector. He loved dirt track racing, music and working on cars. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his children: Rodney (and Renee Lisle) Smith, Frankfort; Angie (and Dave Proehl) Corbit, Chillicothe; and Corey Smith, Frankfort; three grandchildren, Jason Smith and April and Frankie Corbit; five sisters: Eileen Warren; Maxine Hepburn; June Ann Sennif; Beverly (and spouse Frank) Tackett; and Ruth Smith; four brothers: Richard Smith; Bill (and spouse Amy) Smith; Buddy (and spouse Shirley) Smith; and Keith (and spouse Sandy) Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Tom Smith, Virgil Milton Smith, Nancy Louise Smith, Donna Woodling and Bob Smith. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow. Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at his residence, 7780 Ind. 28, Frankfort.
