Kelly J. Newsome, 31, of Palestine, died at 6:42 p.m. Oct. 21, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Oct. 24, 1977, in Floyd County, Ky., to Wheeler and Kathleen Hall Newsome.
He worked as a shot fire man in a Kentucky coal mine. His children were his life ... together they loved the simple pleasures of time spent camping, swimming and riding the four-wheeler. He loved to coon hunt. He lived in Palestine for two months having moved from Minnie, Ky. to be near his children
Surviving are a son, Austin Joe Newsome, at home; two daughters, Katrina Sue and Roni Kathryn Newsome, both at home; a sister, Melissa Shilling, Wabash County; his mother, Kathleen Newsome, Palestine; his father, Wheeler Newsome, Beaver, Ky.; a grandmother, Verlie Hall, Palestine; and several special aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Newsome.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Northern Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church, Sidney, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery.
Calling begins at noon Saturday until the time of service Sunday at the church.
