Keith A. Horn, 85, of Chapman Lake and Plant City, Fla., died March 30, 2010, in Plant City.
He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Warsaw, to Milo C. and Emma Caywood Horn. On April 17, 1949, in Warsaw First Methodist Church, he married Virginia Flowers, who survives.
He spent summers at Chapman Lake, Warsaw, and winters in Plant City. He started as a photographer. After the death of his parents, he became the manager of Horn Sunnymede Restaurant, formerly on East Center Street, Warsaw. While there, Col. Harlin Sanders encouraged him to build seven Kentucky Fried Chicken carry-outs in Michigan. His next project was to develop, build and own Jellystone Campground, Pierceton. He was a member of Rotary, Mizpah Shrine and Masonic Lodge. He was a ham radio operator and enjoyed creating stained glass projects
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin Horn, Warsaw, and Kim (and spouse Stephanie) Horn, Eustis, Fla.; three grandchildren, Tarri, Peter and Patrick. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Scott Horn, who died Dec. 19, 1980, and a brother, Peter Alden Horn.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapman Lake Conservation Club, 325 E. CR 200N, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Andy Martin of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
