I am confused.

When Katrina happened it took a long time for state and federal to get with it but not the same with Haiti. Boy, all stops were pulled and money etc. poured in from everywhere.

What most people don't understand is that most of this outpouring was simply big time PR. Locally, I see a corporation put up 1.3 million. Wow! With all the people that are out of work or sick around this area alone I ask when such a gift will go out to our own people right here at home.

Oh well, as I understand it, much of this money is a write off on taxes. But if the corporate entity gets a write off, who has to make it up in taxes? Oh no! I hear it's the middle class cash cow once again.

The rake-off by those big up-lifters of the down-trodden CEOs is another question. Many of these so called up-lifters have CEOs making hundreds of thousands a year.

My advice is to find some one truly needy right here in the county and quietly slip him or her a few bills. No, not to bums but people who are really trying.

No brass band, no big articles, no photo ops in the paper and above all no fat cat in-betweeners raking their cut off the top.
