Michael L. Mullins will be the new CEO of Kosciusko Community Hospital, according to the hospital's advisory board.
The board approved Mullins as CEO at its meeting Monday. Mullins will replace Wayne Hendrix, who was CEO for 12 years and will retire July 1, when Mullins is expected to assume his new position.
Mullins has been CEO of Unimed Medical Center-St. Joseph's Hospital in Minot, N.D., since 1998.
Before that he was president and CEO of Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada, Mo., where he was responsible for operating a 97-bed acute care hospital, a 112-bed nursing home, a 37-bed Alzheimer's center, a rural health clinic, a home health agency and a hospital foundation.
"We are very pleased to have a man of this quality and breadth of experience to assume the leadership of KCH," said Dr. John Davis, chairman of the KCH advisory board. "He is a man of high integrity and has built very strong relationships with hospital physicians and staff wherever he has been."
Before 1995 Mullins was the chief operating officer at Beaumont Regional Medical Center in Beaumont, Texas, and the CEO at HCA Parkway Hospital, Madison, Wis.
Davis also said Mullins established a successful oncology center in Minot, and "KCH is about to embark on the construction of a new oncology center that will include full medical and radiation therapies. His experience will be most valuable in this undertaking."
