KCH Holds UW Pacesetter CampaignThis week, Kosciusko Community Hospital held its campaign as a United Way Pacesetter.

Pacesetters are companies that help United Way get off to a head start in terms of fundraising.

Last year, with the help of a more than $800,000 in contributions by Pacesetter companies, United Way raised $2,022,009 to fund its programs.

Many of KCH's 851 employees attended Thursday afternoon's Balloon Pop at the hospital.

Employees were able to purchase balloons and pop them. Inside the 300 balloons that filled a room at the hospital Thursday were pieces of paper with numbers.

Each number corresponded to a prize, which could range from a candy bar to the top prize of an Ipod.

The Balloon Pop will be held on three different occasions at KCH.

According to KCH's key leader for the pacesetting, Joe Jarobe, the goal for the hospital is to raise $30,000.

KCH is also holding a lunch buffet and carnival as well.

There will be a corporate gift and, according to Jarobe, there will be matching employee dollars though the amount has yet to be determined.

KCH will be a participant in Day of Caring.

The Times-Union will feature what Pacesetter companies are doing this year to raise money for United Way.
