COLUMBIA CITY – Kay A. Kistler, 76, formerly of Columbia City, died at 10:45 p.m. Dec. 2, 2012, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center, where she was a resident since 2003. She was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Warsaw, to Floyd F. and Gladys E. Kilgore Kistler. She graduated from Pierceton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Manchester College. She was an elementary teacher in Wisconsin, New Hampshire, New York and Florida. In 1984 she became a private nanny. In 1998 she retired and moved to Columbia City. Surviving are her children, Kathy Likens (and spouse Ronald) Carapetyan and Leslie (and spouse Mitch) Armbruster, all of Apex, N.C., and Gregory (and spouse Michele) Likens, Brewster, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley (and spouse Pam) Kistler, Pierceton. Private burial will be at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
