Kay A. Justis, 68, Claypool, formerly of Nappanee, died Aug. 25, 2016, from injuries from an explosion in her home. She was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Elkhart, to Ross C. and Loella Gall Martin. On March 26, 1995, in Waterford, she married Larry Justis, who survives. She was a 1965 graduate of Nappanee High School and attended Anderson College. She spent her lifetime in Elkhart and Kosciusko counties. She had worked at LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, and at the New Paris Post Office. She was a member of Center Methodist Church, Silver Lake, and loved her Lord. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a tender heart for animals. Also surviving are four daughters: Paula Mullins, Angie (and spouse Jaime) Oviedo, both of Nappanee, Stephanie (and spouse Donald) Knowlton, Jimtown, Michelle (and spouse John) Weldy, Indianapolis; one son, Jamie Justis, Niles, Mich.; 10 grandchildren: Kaysee Neher, Kyle Neher, Caitlynn Justis, Kenndy Knowlton, Xavier Oviedo, Alexis Oviedo, Kelsey Knowlton, Christopher Weldy, Danielle Weldy, Lillian Justis; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Reilly and Madelyn Justis; and two sisters, Judy Spencer, Leesburg, and Pat (and spouse Charles) Ulrich, Blandinsvillle, Ill. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Kent B. Harting officiating. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery. Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. ***** Memorials may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
