Kathy L. McElroy, 56, Silver Lake, passed away at 9:03 a.m. March 31, 2015, at her residence. She was born Jan. 6, 1959, in Hammond, to Edwin and Sarah Ooms DeVries. She graduated from Lowell High School. She had lived in various towns including Lowell, Crown Point, Cedar Lake, Warsaw and Silver Lake. She worked as a QMA/CNA for Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, and she was a member of Harvest Community Church, Pierceton. She is survived by four children: Sadie Crabb and Franklin Bright, both of Silver Lake; David (and spouse Amber) McElroy, Warsaw; James (and spouse Brittany) McElroy, Argos; her companion, Mitch Zon, Silver Lake; her sister, Shirley Quesbarth, Eckerty; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Dennis, Bob DeVries and James DeVries; and three nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Lee Perry officiating. Burial is in Lowell Memorial Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. EST/12:30 p.m. CST.
