LIGONIER – Kathryn R. Earnhart, 90, passed away Sept. 18, 2016, at Avalon Village, Ligonier.
She was born to Frank J. and Poneta A. Schoeff Folk on Jan. 31, 1926, in Huntington. On June 3, 1944, in Noble County, she married Owen Clair Earnhart, who preceded her in death.
For many years she worked for Syracuse Elementary School. Gardening and birdwatching were a few other things that kept her occupied. Being a member of the Washington Township Juniors Home Economics Club allowed her to gather a lot of knowledge and create many memories.
An avid IU fan, she always had their calendars to reference and could strike up conversations regarding when their next game was going to be held.
She is survived by a son, N. Fay (and spouse Suzanne), Kimmell; a grandson, Tony A. (and spouse Annette) Earnhart, Kimmell; granddaughters: Ann Earnhart-Tenney, Columbia City, and Deborah Mehl, Albion; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, James (and spouse Joan) Folk, Warsaw; a sister, Margaret Conner, Cromwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also was preceded by her parents; two sons, David A. Earnhart and Larry J. Earnhart; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Earnhart.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell, with Pastor John Lutton officiating.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway, South Ligonier.
