NORTH MANCHESTER – Kathryn Nadine Bontrager Becker, 96, North Manchester and formerly of Warsaw and Silver Lake, died at 6:23 a.m. Feb. 24, 2014, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born Nov. 8, 1917, in Nappanee, to Edward Franklin and Viola Lucena Mitchell Gall. On Sept. 28, 1935, she married G. Joseph Bontrager, who died Dec. 30, 1995. On May 16, 1999, she married Paul Russell Becker, who died Nov. 1, 2006. She worked at Lake City Bank, Warsaw, for 15 years. She was a former member of West Eel River Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Nappanee High School, and her senior photo caption was, “A woman’s crowning glory is her hair.” Surviving are a son, Mark. E. (and spouse Ruth) Bontrager, Fort Wayne; three daughters: Brenda Jo Falconer, Rockford, Ill.; Deborah (and spouse James) Lotz, Warsaw; Victoria Kay Bontrager, Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a grandchild, two brothers and one sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East St., North Manchester, with Pastor Karen Eberly officiating. Burial is in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
