BELLEVILLE, Wis. - Kathryn "Kate" Kiesling, 93, of Belleville, died July 22, 2009, at the Ellen and Peter Johnson Hospicecare residence, Fitchburg.
She was born April 5, 1916, in Indiana, to N. Bruce and Helen Rowan Howe. On July 3, 1941, in Chicago, she married Benjamin Kiesling, who died in 1959.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1934, and attended Manchester College. The family moved back to the Winona/Warsaw area where she lived most of her life. After she was widowed, she did secretarial work to support her four children. She was a wonderful cook and baker and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving are two brothers, Rowan "Bo" and N. Bruce Howe Jr.; a sister, Helen Claire Lecount; two sons, Bruce (and spouse Ricky), Belleville, and Charles (and spouse Sally), Ocean Springs, Miss.; six grandchildren: Bruce D., Erika, Dale, Jenny, Carl and Cody; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jaxson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Elijah, and three children, Cyrus, Karen and Sim.
A graveside service will be Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
