COLUMBIA CITY – Kathryn Joan Secrist, 72, of Albion, died at 8:48 p.m. Feb. 20, 2012, in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Plymouth, to Richard Max and Pearl Irene Tracy Burgh.
A former resident of Mentone and Goshen, she moved to Merriam 24 years ago. She attended Etna Green High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Curbside Cruisers, Fort Wayne, Route 30 Car Cruisers, Columbia City, and Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, Merriam.
Surviving are three sons: Jeff A. Secrist, Syracuse; Richard Jay (and spouse Kimberly) Secrist, Warsaw; and Joseph L. (and spouse Lisa) Secrist, Mentone; companion, Brice D. Overman, Albion; five grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry (and spouse Jeanne) Burgh, Walnut, Calif. She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastor George Cecil officiating. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
