Katherine J. Deerwester, 83, of Warsaw, passed away at 2:04 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1936, in Bourbon, to Russell and Iva Starrett Rule. She graduated from Warsaw High School and was married on April 6, 1958, to William T. “Bill” Deerwester, who preceded her on April 27, 2014.
She formerly worked as a bookkeeper for Schrader’s in Warsaw and Hoffman Brothers in South Bend and was a member of the Moderne Homemaker’s Club in Warsaw. She was a lifetime Warsaw area resident.
She is survived by two sons:?Dan Deerwester, of Warsaw; and David (Renata) Deerwester, of Columbia City; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charlie Rule and Richard Rule; and sister, Mary Thommes.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
