AKRON — Katherine E. Paxton, 101, passed at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
She was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Warsaw, to William and Ruth K. Hessler Snyder. She married on June 14, 1941, in Warsaw, to James R. “Jim” Paxton. He preceded on March 19, 2014.
They resided in rural Silver Lake for many years. She enjoyed gardening, animals and farm life. She was an active member of Silver Creek Church of God for many years.
Survivors include a son, Phil (wife Suzy), Sevierville, Tenn.; grandchildren: Brent (wife Lisa) Paxton, Lichelle (husband Josh) Parker and Kevin (wife Brittany) Paxton; a stepgrandchild, Stacy (husband Spencer) Mikel; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Paxton; six sisters; and three brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Silver Creek Church of God, 6504 W. 1300 S., Silver Lake. Pastor Thomas Craig will officiate.
Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Silver Creek Church of God.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
