Karla Jane Funk, 59, rural Akron, went home to be with her Lord at 6:52 p.m. Aug. 16, 2016 at her residence. She had resided here since 2001, moving from Wisconsin. She was born Dec. 15, 1956, in Wrightsville, Pa., to Dean and Thelma Musser Carracher. On July 28, 1984, in Wrightsville, she married Donald I. Funk Jr., who survives in Akron. She was a quality inspector for Othy Orthopedics as well as Medtronic, both of Warsaw. She was a graduate of Eastern York Senior High School, Wrightsville. She was very dedicated to the Olive Bethel Church of God and a strong supporter and worker for Yellow Creek Lake Ministries and Campground. She was a lover of all animals and helped take care of them in any way she could. Also surviving are four daughters: Michelle (and spouse Abraham) Thompson, South Bend; Jennifer (and spouse Michael) Carricato, Camp Hill, Pa.; Melissa Funk, Baltimore, Md.; Doni (and spouse Timothy) Garber, Peru, Ind.; a son, Jason (and spouse Caray) Funk, Waukesha, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret (and spouse Wade) Smith and Linda (and spouse Brian) Manley, both of Wrightsville; and two brothers, Barry Carracher and Dean Carracher, both of York, Pa. She was preceded in death by parents and an infant daughter, Shannon. Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Yellow Creek Lake Camp Ground, Claypool, in the Slaybaugh Auditorium, with Pastor J.R.
