NORTH MANCHESTER - Karen S. French, 62, of Claypool, died at 5:58 a.m. March 29, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born May 31, 1947, in Wabash, to Earl D. and June A. Smith Floor. On April 22, 1966, she married Bennie R. French, who survives.
She was a homemaker, graduated from Akron High School in 1965 and attended Faith Assembly Church, Winona Lake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and helping other people in any way she could. She also loved to praise the Lord in song.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mariah S. (and spouse Mark) Chupp, Elkhart; two brothers, Larry L. (and spouse Ann) Floor, Akron, and Michael (and spouse Claudette) Floor, Dryden, N.Y.; three sisters, Deloris (and spouse Max) Thompson, Claypool, and Joan (and spouse Jim) Bucher and Sharon Floor, all of Akron; and four grandchildren, Jessica D., Collin M., Jadon D. and Jocelyn L. Chupp, all of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jody French.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at South Pleasant United Methodist Church, Ind. 15, Silver Lake, with Pastor Joseph Brenneman officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
