NAPPANEE - Karen "Prune" Weaver-Collins, 58, died at 11:50 a.m. June 24, 2009, in LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, from complications of cancer since 2004.
She was born Jan. 23, 1951, in Elkhart, to Joe and Chloe A. Parcell Weaver. On Feb. 21, 1993, in Nappanee, she married James Collins, who died Oct. 21, 2005.
A lifetime Nappanee resident, she was a 1969 Nappanee High School graduate and formerly worked at LuAnn Nursing Home and Howard's Drive Inn, Nappanee, for 22 years. She attended First Brethren Church, Nappanee.
Surviving are a daughter, Kelli Miller, Nappanee; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and two brothers, Doug (and spouse Judy) Weaver, Nappanee, and Oscar Weaver, Syracuse. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.
