BOURBON – Karen J. Weirick, 69, Bourbon, passed away at 9:45 a.m. March 16, 2014, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka.
She was born Nov. 21, 1944. On Sept. 15, 1962, she married Barry Weirick, who died Oct. 22, 2003.
She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Mentone High School. She loved her dog, Lily, and she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Tamara (and spouse Rick) Schuh, Tippecanoe, and Debra (and spouse Les) Phipps, Mentone; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Betty Weirick, Crystal Lake, Warsaw. Also preceding her in death were her mother, Jane Witt, and her sister, Kathy.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry of Bourbon First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in Tippecanoe Cemetery.
Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
