The Kosciusko Association of Female Executives announced the availability of scholarships. Scholarship applications will be accepted through May 1.

The KAFE scholarship is dedicated to the academic advancement of women in the county. It is a non-traditional scholarship in that first preference is given to adult females seeking advanced education for the first time or to continue after one or more year interruption; with second preference provided to adult females desiring to continue their education for professional advancement.

The KAFE scholarship winner in 2006 received $500.

Applicants must be adult females who are residents of Kosciusko County, must show financial need and qualify for admittance to a college, university or trade school in Indiana.

Scholarship applications may be obtained from area colleges, churches, libraries, Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce or by sending a written request to: Kosciusko Association of Female Executives, Scholarship Fund Committee, P.O. Box 775, Winona Lake, IN 46590-0775.

KAFE is dedicated to the advancement of women, both professionally and personally, by providing an environment that promotes support, networking opportunities, continuing education and volunteerism through community service.

The organization meets the third Tuesday of the month at noon at the Great Wall Restaurant, 2308 E. Center St., Warsaw. Visitors and new members are welcome.
