KABS Plans Services Expansion

Posted
Kosciusko Area Bus Service announced the expansion of rider services will begin in February.

Currently serving the Warsaw and Winona Lake areas, buses will soon provide rides to all of Kosciusko County.

Hours of service also will be expanded to cover the hours of 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.Other changes include the new KABS logo, which will be seen on all buses, and the creation of a new fare structure.

An 11- to 25-mile trip is $2, and more than 25 miles is $3. Pickups scheduled within 24 hours will incur an additional $4 fee.

The changes come about as KABS, a division of Cardinal Services, has come under new leadership

KABS General Manager Matt Boren oversees the Cardinal Transportation Department.

Boren said Cardinal's motto is "Getting You There."

He emphasizes that KABS buses are public transportation. Routes are set according to the needs of riders.

People who need a ride can call KABS dispatch, and time and location will be added into a route.

To reach the dispatcher, call 574-267-4990 or toll free at 866-953-4490. For more information, e-mail matt.boren@cardinalservices.org or check out the transportation tab on the Cardinal Services Web site, www.cardinalservices.org
