Posted

Six juveniles were charged in two separate incident in which underage drinking is alleged.

Three teens reportedly tested positive for alcohol consumption Tuesday night after police responded to a loud music call.

The mother of one of the teen-agers directed Warsaw police to a shed in her backyard, where the teens were gathered. When police looked inside the shed (which is converted into a living space) open beer cans were reportedly in plain view, but all three allegedly denied drinking.

Breathalyzer tests noted that Kelly Louise Jinks, 16, of 106 N. Columbia St., Silver Lake, had a blood-alcohol level of .01 percent; Joshua Dwayne Willis, 16, of 1515 Maye St., Warsaw, .017 percent; and Gary Junior Massenburg, 16, of 1414 Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw, .07 percent. All three were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and released to parents or a responsible adult.

The incident was reported at 10:10 p.m.

In a 12:08 a.m. incident today, three other teens were charged after police stopped them in the 800 block of East Winona Avenue to question why they were out at that time of night.

One of the teens reportedly told police that they were all over age 18 and that they were just out to use a pay telephone.

Drew Allen Krichbaum, 16, of 201 Lakeview Drive, Winona Lake, and Donald Eugene Chilcutt, 17, of 3104 E. Wooster Road #77, Winona Lake, were each charged with false informing, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and curfew violation. The false informing charges result from the teens allegedly giving false names and ages.

Kayn Justin Dilley, 16, of 1415 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and curfew violation.

All three reportedly tested positive for alcohol consumption, with Breathalyzer tests registering .039 for Krichbaum, .019 percent for Chilcutt and .008 percent for Dilley.

A 19-year-old male was released without charges after testing negative for alcohol consumption.
