A fire that completely destroyed the old Tinkey Oil Building Monday now appears to have been set by a juvenile.
Warsaw Fire Department battled a blaze at the building, located off an alley in the 700 block of West Center Street. While crews fought the fire, 55-gallon drums with oil and other solvents exploded.No one was injured during the blaze. The arson was initially detected by the WFD detection canine, Bailey, who found an area of possible ignitable substance.
According to a press release sent out by the Warsaw Police Department, information received during the investigation of Monday's fire led to a juvenile suspect. The suspect was interviewed, and during the interview the juvenile admitted to setting the fire.
The WPD is continuing its investigation and asks that anyone with additional information regarding the incident to call the detective division at 574-372-9532.
