Just The Facts

Editor, Times-Union:

Could Ms. Wheeler please provide me the names of the doctors she mentions in the Nov. 10 Times-Union and how to contact them?

A doctor that has such uncanny diagnostic abilities that he can tell from a cursory examination the technological capabilities of the patient's cell phones, how many cigarettes they smoke per day, how many beers they drink and what television programs they are watching in the privacy of their own homes would certainly be beneficial to me and many others. These keen clairvoyant powers would most certainly put an end to those cost prohibitive tests that we uninsured folks cannot afford.

Perhaps the doctor could gaze intently into his crystal ball and locate some of those exorbitantly priced prescription drugs that we also cannot afford. I would expect to pay for this highly specialized field and would expect nothing "free."

If I am incarcerated for not paying my fines for not purchasing health insurance, will I get the medical care I am denied by being a law-abiding citizen, and does this include dental because I have a tooth that has been bothering me? If so, this is sounding like a pretty sweet deal to me ... go to jail and get the medical care I need.

Ms. Wheeler expresses the feeling in her final statement that she doesn't want to pay for other peoples' well being. I wasn't very happy that my tax dollars subsidized illegal wars, tax cuts for billionaires and tax cuts to multi-national corporations that outsourced our jobs. I was not aware we were able to pick and choose what programs our personal tax contributions funded. If this is the case, I will contact my tax man immediately.
