MILFORD - June I. Morehead, 87, went home to be with the Lord at 5:13 a.m. April 19, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Lima, Ohio, to Dana E. and B. Irene Rudy Bowers. She married Joseph A. Morehead Sr., who died in June 1981.
A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and sold Avon for many years. She loved her family, and tried to talk to them everyday. A devoted Christian woman, she raised her children to love the Lord. She enjoyed spending time outside, gardening, raising flowers and fishing. She really like to listen to Elvis Presley and shared the same birth day with him. She enjoyed dancing, singing and yodeling. She was very outgoing and never knew a stranger. She was loved and will be missed dearly.
Surviving are three sons, Joe Jr. (and spouse Jane) Morehead and John Sr. (and spouse Sally) Morehead, all of Milford, and Jay Sr. (and spouse Vickie) Morehead, Leesburg; four daughters: Donna Plummer, Warsaw; Jane (and spouse Charlie) Weise and Susan (and spouse Bill Sr.) Gerrity, all of Syracuse; and Shirley (and spouse Julian) Islas, Larwill; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Christine Morehead; and a brother, Dana (and spouse Carolyn) Bowers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford, with Pastor Gary Colby officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
