COLUMBIA CITY – Julie J. Kissinger, 73, Columbia City, passed away at 5:39 a.m. April 29, 2016, at her home.
She was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Fort Wayne, to Gene and Sally Wunder Quinn. On April 10, 1958, at the rectory of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member, she married James “Tarz” Kissinger, who preceded her in death.
She grew up on Tri-Lakes, living on Shriner. It was there where she fell in love with James “Tarz” Kissinger, who she would go on to spend the rest of her life with. In 1978, Tarz and Julie became the owners and operators of Kissinger Electric. After he passed away in 2012, she still was active in the family business where she was the president.
Survivors include five children: Joseph Robert (and spouse Amy) Kissinger, Markle; Jeffery James (and spouse David) Kissinger, Jersey City, N.J.; Jonathan Scott (and spouse Deanna) Kissinger, Columbia City; Jennifer Lou (and spouse Mark) Hinkel, Fort Wayne; Julie Ann (and spouse Brent) Robinson, North Webster; two sisters: Susan (and spouse Eron) Cooper, Dubach, La.; Dawn (and spouse Harold) Shannon, Fort Wayne; a brother, Gene (and spouse Karen) Quinn, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and her beloved three boxers, Wilson, Rosie and Sally. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City. She will be buried next her to husband at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Cemetery in Greenhill at a later date.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
