Julia Patricia 'Pat' Moran

HUNTINGTON – Julia Patricia “Pat” Moran, 87, Leesburg, and formerly of Huntington, passed away at 1:37 p.m. Dec. 22, 2014, at IU Health Goshen Hospice, Goshen. She was born April 17, 1927, in Rockford, Ill., to Benjamin and Loretta Pratt Knop. On Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, she married Patrick Richard Moran, who preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1986. She was a 1945 graduate of Short Ridge High School. She attended University of Tennessee, Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne and Huntington College. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW #2689. Surviving are four sons: Patrick R. (and spouse Chris) Moran Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.; Thomas Patrick (and spouse Peggy) Moran, Huntington; James Patrick (and spouse Dawn) Moran, Saucier, Miss.; and John Patrick Moran, Warsaw; two daughters, Loretta Patricia Ousley, Leesburg, and Julie Patricia (and spouse James) Spurgeon, Middlebury; five grandchildren: Andrew Ousley, Christopher Ousley, Kiri (and spouse Stephen) Roeseler, Michelle Moran and Abby Moran; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Caleb Roeseler. She also is survived by her special friend, Koda. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John F. Knop. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, with Father Ron Rieder, OFM Cap, presiding.
