AKRON – Julia Ann Newsome, 75, of 7772 S. CR 1300W, Rochester, died at 4 a.m. Sept. 12, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Langley, Ky., to Elzie and Opal Adkins Bentley. On Aug. 23, 1958, in Langley, she married Clifford Newsome Sr., who preceded her in death June 1, 2007.
She had worked for Chamberlain Products of Akron and Provimi Veal of Tippecanoe as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Little Alivie Church of North Judson. She loved quilting and baking.
Surviving are three sons: Kenneth Dale (and spouse Kelly) Newsome, Warsaw; Cliff Jr. (and spouse Lesa) Newsome, and Phill (and spouse Tammy) Newsome, all of Mentone; four grandchildren: Joshua Wade (and spouse Alysa) Newsome, Michele Lynn Newsome, Trenton Allen Newsome and Laura Beth Tessmer; great-grandchildren: Marlynn and Elliott Ramsell; three sisters: Lillian Gregory, Paintsville, Ky.; Elizabeth (and spouse Delbert) Stephens, Langley; and Margaret Kirkland, St Cloud, Fla. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Preachers of the Little Alivie Church officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, followed by a church service at 5 p.m.
