Judith Arlene Reid Funnell Huffer Brown

Judith Arlene Reid Funnell Huffer Brown, 67, of Warsaw, passed away to be with her Lord at 8:45 a.m. July 20, 2011, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.

She was born July 21, 1943, in Warsaw, to Robert E. and Eva E.  Reed. She was lovingly raised by Everett Meloy, who passed away in 1992, and Eva Meloy, who passed away in 1994. In 1996, in Rising Sun, she married Earl “Wayne” Brown, who died March 25, 2010.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she graduated from Pierceton High School in 1961, IPFW with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1989 and earned a master’s degree from IPFW in 1999. She worked for the Warsaw Community Schools from 1989 to 2006. She also worked for DaLite Screen as a secretary to director of advertising. She was a member of Pierceton Presbyterian Church, Delta Theta Tar, Beta Zeta Chapter of Warsaw. She loved oil painting, charcoal drawings, reading and visiting with family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, June Angela Reid, Fort Wayne; a son, Clint (and spouse Tina) Funnell, Scottsville, Ky.; two grandsons, Dakota Funnell, Scottsville, and Spencer Reid-Phillips, Fort Wayne; and two granddaughters, Whitney (and spouse Ryan) Harrington, Warsaw, and Chyanne Funnell, Scottsville;  a sister, Vonda (and spouse Sam) Lehman, Pierceton; a brother, Neal (and  spouse Erna) Meloy, Warsaw; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Brown, Bennington; Dorotha (and spouse Sam) Markland, both of Rising Son; a stepdaughter, Casie (and spouse Bill) Hankins; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Brown, who died in 2010.

Services were at noon Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Andy Weaver officiating. A memorial service will be at a later date at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun. Burial will be in Rising Sun New Cemetery.
