SYRACUSE – Juanita I. Hapner, 94, formerly of Syracuse, died Dec. 15, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born May 20, 1917, in Elkhart County, to Melvin and Nora Darr Gushwa. In 1940, she married Thomas Hapner, who died in 1960.
A lifetime area resident, she retired from Syracuse Rubber in 1987 after 29 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty (and spouse Lowell) Dobbs, Pierceton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Al Zimmerman, Fort Wayne.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Solomon Creek Cemetery.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
